Misaka 10032 - A recurring character from A Certain Magical Index who appeared in Right Hand of the Magic God.Though it is known that these incarnations of Mikoto and the Will are from different worlds, this relationship still applies in a general sense. As Misaka is the source of the Sisters project, and by extension the Will, Mikoto can be said to be the unwitting mother of the Misaka Network as a whole, even as she is not aware of the existence of the Will. Mikoto Misaka - A major character from A Certain Magical Index who debuted in Right Hand of the Crimson Moon.Knowing that she will not meet the group again, regardless of whether or not the team succeeded, the Will bids farewell to the group, leaving them to decide the ideal course of action. Knowing the great power gap between the group and Othinus now that she had become the ultimate power in the multiverse, the Will instead proposes to approach the Magic God in a different manner instead of trying to fight her, they must try to reach and "understand" her, knowing that she could have killed the group at any moment she desired, but curiously chose not to up to this point, and speculating that there is still time yet for her to be convinced to restore the multiverse, and realize "what it means to be human." After explaining that she is exempt from Othinus's act of "restoring everyone who died and altering everyone who is alive," as "someone" who exists between life and death due to her relationship with the Misaka Network, the Will - inhabiting the body of Misaka 10032 - sympathizes with the group's harrowing situation, demonstrating a knowledge of the previous multiverse, though remarking that if Othinus were to become aware of her existence, she would be able to rectify her mistake. The Will of the Whole Misaka Network only appears in the sixth chapter of the event, residing on the world of Avalon along with everyone the surviving team knew, alive or dead, now restored and living happily.Īs the group strolled through Avalon, making their way through the peaceful city and realizing that Othinus's new multiverse was absolute, that it was no illusion, and beginning to doubt their mission to defeat the Magic God and restore the multiverse, the Will suddenly appeared before everyone, recognizing them as being out of place despite the others in Avalon having their memories wiped to conform with their new lives. Plot Involvement Right Hand of the Magic God It was only when Othinus destroyed the multiverse in the end of the fourth chapter of Right Hand of the Magic God, and created the multiverse anew, a utopia where no one had ever suffered any pain or loss, where everyone was saved, that the Will was able to manifest, as she was both alive and dead in a manner of speaking, existing as a loophole through Othinus's view of the multiverse. Though the Misaka Network are said to have some capacity for individuality, Accelerator has expressed an awareness of a seemingly incorporeal entity that acts as the singular will of the entire network, though usually allows the corporeal Sisters to do as they please.ĭue to being a mostly incorporeal being, the Will of the Misaka Network did not entirely "exist" in an orthodox sense. With Accelerator, the number one Level 5 Esper, at the center of the Level 6 Shift Project, the clones were chosen as expendable enemies for Accelerator to fight and easily kill under the pretense that the continuous fights would make Accelerator stronger until he'd eventually reach Level 6, though the project was quickly scrapped when Accelerator was suddenly defeated by Touma Kamijou, a certain Level 0, who intended to put an end to the massacre. These clones, dubbed "Sisters," were all connected via the Misaka Network. With Misaka's DNA, the researchers of the project created 20,001 clones of her, though placed at Level 3, significantly weaker than the real Misaka. Under the pretense of that such an act would help children who were suffering from muscle atrophy, Mikoto Misaka - one of the seven Level 5 Espers - donated a sample of her DNA to the 7th Medical Research Center of the city, unaware that the researchers in truth had a more nefarious agenda in the form of the "Level 6 Shift Project," a project that intended to unlock the possibility of attaining Level 6 in an Esper. In a world where science has progressed well beyond normal human capability, yet where magic exists as well, the metropolis of Academy City is largely populated by Espers with various powers, ranked on a scale of 0 to 5 from weakest to strongest. The Will of the Whole Misaka Network is a minor character from A Certain Magical Index, only appearing in the ninth volume of the New Testament saga.
